LLF has handled a wide variety of real estate-related disputes on behalf of clients ranging from real estate developers to commercial tenants. Among the matters in which LLF has been involved are these:
- LLF represented owners and operators of income-producing properties in a dispute with a publicly-traded real estate investment trust involving a series of transactions designed to effect like-kind exchanges of investment properties under § 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code.
- LLF represented a high-end spa and health club in a trial against the building owner for damages and injunctive relief arising from structural defects in the premises resulting in a breach of the tenant’s right of quiet enjoyment.
- LLF represented a well-known and prestigious restaurant in a dispute under its commercial lease concerning its right to sublet the premises to another restauranteur.
- LLF defended a real estate developer in a dispute with a major construction union concerning the use of non-union labor on the construction of a high-rise apartment complex in downtown Manhattan.
